Still no sunshine yet. I’m guessing it should peak out the clouds in the next few weeks. It’s been rainy all day today, which has been a real help by melting most of the snow that we had from the past weeks. I figured this would be a great time to redecorate the FT head quarters and make it more “visitor-friendly”. The top locations on my where to shop list Big Lots, Walmart, Staples, and of course the local thrift store. My luck wasn’t to good today, I guess that’s because I didn’t write out a shopping list. It always seems to be hard to shop when you don’t have a list. Whatever the case may be I came across nothing, even at the thrift store. So I’ll probably head down to the city tomorrow and search. I do know that I have many different design ideas that I want to try out. I’m leaning more towards a more simplicity look. I might throw up a fresh coat of paint and hang a few of my favorite photographs from some of my favorite photographers. I do know I will be trading in my PC for a Mac. I will still have a nice pc notebook or netbook on the side, but nothing says simplicity like a Mac.

So after a long days work there usually isn’t anything to look forward to seeing as though I get off at 11pm. Usually my night consists of emails, more emails, and facebook messages. Nothing to exciting. Tonight was different though, and I should have figured out that something good was going to happen before my night was over by the way my day had already been going. After sorting through junk mail and all, I headed over to facebook for my annual check up on long distance friends, and reply to their interesting, funny, and yet some times unusual “Whats on your mind” quotes. As I was scrolling my FB home page I spotted a video post from a real close friend of mine. As I read the title I immediately knew what it was. A recording of his first performance that he recently did in Seattle Washington. Watching this video was a huge inspiration for me not because I want to be a recording artists, but because while the two of us along with a few other friends all lived in Orlando FL for a while we talked about our goals and what we wish to achieve. This video is his first step toward reaching one of his many goals. You can be sure I’ll keep you guys posted on his progress, and that you guys will be seeing and hearing a lot of his performances and music as the year continues. When we see our friends take their first steps in reaching their goals it only fuels us to keep striving for ours. It all starts with a dream.

My “FT ADHD Layout Syndrome”

So it seems like I really have ADHD for site layouts, but after a lot of thought, time, and reading a bunch of css style sheet tutorials I’ve finally been able to create a layout that will be around for some time now. I really hope you guys like it. We’ve decided to mix an online magazine type layout style with a blog layout as well. Some of us love the magazine experience on line and some of us enjoy the blog experience by its simplicity and easy navigation. Me personally I like both, so why not merge both. Before we started styling our new layout we wanted to take a look at other online magazines/blog sites, just to help us try to create something a little different. From what I’ve noticed there really isn’t anything new under the sun, it’s just how you present your material. Through this whole process I really haven’t focused on new material in a while. If something really bugs me (my ADHD problem for the perfect FT layout) I need to put all my time in effort in solving that issue. Well, I am proud to say that issue is solved. So stay tuned for more constant post and updates on our travels. For all of you guys who have been with us from the start I really appreciate all the love and support you have given and your understanding that we have no idea what we are doing, we’re just learning as we go, following our passions, dreams and goals, and for that we thank you. Stevie Crooks | Diamonds & Guns

Ladies and gents I am excited to say that Stevie Crooks’ new long awaited mixtape “Diamonds & Guns” has finally dropped. It is everything I expected and more. From the first track this mixtape captivated me with its smooth laid back, sophisticated, raw 90’s hip-hop feel. Of course you can expect Crooks to intertwine his thoughtful, sharp, clever, shrewd, quick, and stylish lyrics seamlessly over a refined, delicate, and elegant raw beat. After I listened to D&G (“Diamonds & Guns”) for basically the whole part of my day I had to go back to his previous mixtape “CSTS” to compare. Usually some artists will make the same mistake over and over again by basing their next project on the same topic as their last piece of work, just stating them in a different way. With D&G this was not an issue at all. It seems as though Stevie Crooks has started to open himself up as an artist, sharing with his listeners a more personal side of himself. Putting aside his love and passion for streetwear Stevie Crooks unravels the mysteries of the life of a villain.
